Habitat for Humanity's mission is to provide simple, decent, affordable housing for families in need. This is done by raising funds through donations and grants. Partner families work 400 hours of sweat equity, pay a down payment and pay on a 20-30 year, zero percent loan. Partner families are given a hand-up, not a hand-out.
Vineyard United Methodist Church has partnered with Crow River Habitat for Humanity by annually hosting a spaghetti dinner with the free-will offering going to Crow River Habitat. Each year there is a Vineyard Habitat build day. During this day volunteers have participated in construction while some have provided meals for the workers. Members of the congregation also serve on various committees with Crow River Habitat for Humanity.
